It’s a cloudy, crafting day, Monday. The perfect day to do nothing.
I’ve been sick for the past couple of weeks but right before I got sick I bought a packet of wheatgrass powder from our local organic store.
I’d never tried it before so I figured I should wait to make a smoothie with it until I could actually taste my food.
It… well, it was interesting.
Wheatgrass powder is super alkalizing and just 1 Tbsp is equal to your suggested daily intake of greens. If you want to read more about Wheatgrass powder and it’s properties click here.
Now that being said, I am not a particularly picky eater, but this was not my favorite.
You know how people always talk about how they eat it because it’s good for you but it tastes gross? Well it’s the opposite for me.
If it’s freshly picked and not in a box I think it’s delicious.
I literally almost throw up on the rare occasion when we have to run to the regular grocery store.
That was not the case here.
Personally I think that wheatgrass is one of the few things that is super good for you, that tastes gross.
However! Don’t let me make your opinion for you. So if are interested in trying it I would say that’s awesome! Give it a go! Here’s a recipe. Tell me how it goes.
Banana Wheatgrass Smoothie
- 1 and 1/2 bananas (save the other half for toppings or just add it in)
- 1 Tbsp Wheatgrass Powder
- 1/2 avocado (makes is smooth)
- 1 cup coconut ice (frozen coconut water)
- 1/4 cup coconut water (add more a little at a time to taste)
- Toppings of choice
Ta-dah! That’s what it looks like!
Hopefully this’ll help you get your week off to a good start!
