So in my house there’s people who like “smoothies” and then there’s me and my dad.
My dad and I like real, healthy, good for you, yummy smoothies. The ones I post here.
Everyone else likes smoothies that are actually more like milkshakes. Sweet, with a yogurt base and quite frankly, boring.
I’ve tried to explain that bananas, strawberries and yogurt is not a well balanced smoothie (I mean where’s your green?!) but they don’t care.
I pulled out the blender to make MY smoothie and then came the “Why can’t you just make a regular smoothie? A real one.”
I didn’t have the energy to get them to try the smoothie I was about to make which meant I also did not have the energy to clean the blender twice.
So I gave in.
The order had specifically said NO KALE! but it didn’t say anything about spinach, plus we didn’t have bananas.
Here’s what I came up with for the picky eaters in my family.
Makes 3 small servings.
- 1 cup frozen strawberries
- 1 cup spinach
- 1 cup yogurt
- 1 1/2 cups pomegranate juice
Throw it all in the blender, snap a picture and share it using the hashtag ShinyLiney and enjoy.
