Happy Spring! I know that happened like weeks ago but I just never got around to celebrating. It’s hard for me to want to celebrate when spring in India means instead of being in the 80’s (Farenheit) it’s in the 100’s.
This week I’ve been trying to be very conscious of what I’m eating seeing as this weekend is Easter.
Growing up I was raised a Catholic but in recent years we have moved away from the church and have instead embraced the positive parts of several different religions.
That doesn’t mean that we stopped following our holiday traditions. Heck no. We still make cinnamon bread every Easter and Christmas, a recipe that Singled! makes 8 large loaves not to mention the candy filled Easter baskets. That’s how we role. Carb and sugar heavy and honestly that’s okay. As long as you have balance.
There’s a reason why holidays are few and far between. To give your body time to recover.
Unfortunately imaging all the desserts I have to go start making woke up my sweet tooth. So I whipped up this yummy mango banana smoothie.
- 2 cups frozen bananas
- 1 1/2 cups fresh mango
- 1/2 cup coconut milk
Top with toppings of choice. I did some mango and banana slices with chia and homemade pumpkin granola.
Don’t forget that it’s all about balance. Enjoy your chocolate but don’t forget your fruits and veggies!
